Description:

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is developing tools and processes for application of decision science to natural resource management challenges. As the major science provider for the U.S. Department of the Interior, USGS works with federal and state agencies, nongovernmental organizations and academia to analyze key environmental and societal issues affecting natural resources and relates findings to inform resource management. Tools and case studies include: Shaping Collaboration with Content: Structured Decision Making and Adaptive Management; Disparate Stakeholder Management: How to Avoid Being Buffaloed by Competing Interests; and Decision Analysis: Flow of Selenium in Disturbed Appalachian.
